Better, but now that I think about it...Annoying

Now, the second half of the movie it's like the JV team stopped and the Varsity took over. It was really good with outrageously good performances by the annoying kid and even more so by Sandra Bullock. Bullock should be nominated for another Oscar. Her performance was better then in The Blind Side .(Which was a great movie too by the way)

The story got better but it still wasn't constructed very well. The pace of the script wasn't smooth either. Not that every thing needs to be in chronological order but the picture has to have it's own uninterrupted rhythm. It didn't flow, it felt jerky.

After an hour I really started pulling for all the characters, where as the first half I wished it was them who had died. That's quite a turn around in a few minutes. (Hence two different reviews) I suppose it could have been that the pain of the first half caused me to feel empathy for the kid and his family in the second half, but I doubt it. I really hated that kid...and his stupid tambourine.

Finally I am annoyed by the following.

1. We never found out for sure if the old man was the annoying kid's Grandfather.
2. I didn't understand the sixth borough thing at all, I mean did he solve that mystery?
3. We never found out what the key was for!!!! Tell me what is was for!!!!! It's not like you couldn't have found out!!!!!!

Wow, I have never wanted to get up and leave before. It wasn't that the first half of this movie was bad, it was intolerable. It felt like the film makers were trying to be purposely annoying. I mean, we get it the kid has problems but did we have to make him annoying and unlikeable as well? After the first half an hour we got it that this kid was socially awkward. We didn't need to have the point driven home. It was like a nail to the head. The horse was beaten and the horse was dead. And the story didn't make any sense, nor was it believable that you let your very strange child wonder Central Park in NYC and talk to homeless people alone. I'm sorry, I don't buy it.

If I hadn't planned on seeing "The Grey" afterwards I would have left the movie half way through.....

It was at the request of my smokin' hot wife that I saw this movie. Becky is a big fan of Janet Evanovich and was super psyched to see this movie (She's hoping for 17 sequals). She was pleased with the casting and performance of all the main characters with the exception of Ranger, who she liked but just didn't live up to her mental image. "Ranger needs more presence" In any case I really enjoyed the movie because it pleased my wife. Her enthusuasm for the characters and the story was infectious. Multiple times over the evening I asked her "Are they getting it right?" and every time she said yes. To see her happy and satisfied made me happy and satidfied.

Without Becky's interest I would have never have seen the movie. Becky even said that as a movie alone she would not have gone to see it either. That's probably true for 99% of the people who went to see it. It is loved only because it appeared in book form first. If it stood on its own, noone would have gone to see it.

Murder mystery fils are a genre that I don't watch often enough. This was an exciting suspense filled movie with "lots to see." This intriguing story gives you more that you expect which makes you feel like you got an extra treat event.

What an amazing story about different encounters a horse has on both sides of the battle field during World War 1. Although most horse movies are horrible sappy affairs geared towards 12 year old girls, War Horse is officially kick-###!

If the first hour of the movie was as good as the last hour then no question this was a superior performance. Joseph-Gorden Levitt (although he has too many names) had an incredible scene towards the end of the movie, and Seth Rogan was great as well. The problem was the movie wasn't as funny as it was supposed to be. I know that sounds terrible when you're talking about a cancer movie, but it was billed as a Drama-Comedy. All the best jokes were given away in the previews and although that certainly didn't sink the ship or lessen the impact of the performances or the story, it did promise something that didn't deliver. In this case the preview ruined the movie because of promises it didn't keep. However if it wasn't for the preview I probably wouldn't have seen it anyway. So what do you do?

Cool that it was based on a true story...I wonder if he lives! (he-he) (Watch the trailer above to find out why that's funny.)

That's what this movie was. Interesting, but a little unemotional. It was an interesting intelectual story. It was sort of a what-if sort of story. Very believable, yet not all that remarkable. If you like political dramas you'll find it interesting. If you don't care about politics then you propbably won't find much that thrills you.

Yes it's nothing but a money making scheme by Disney. Wow did it work, it's made millions of dollars again! The 3-D was nothing special. The best part was taking thekids and they loved it. To see a classic on the big screen again was awesome, I wish they'd do this sort of thing more!

Although many doubted me I expected this to be a good movie, and I was right. Some spuds are saying "The script isn't very plausible" Really? An alien invasion in the old west not plausible?

I mean seriously folks stop taking everything so seriously. It was a good western! Harrison Ford performed brilliantly, and the leading man (sorry, I'm way to lazy to look up his name) was totally bad-A##.

I enjoyed myself, no it wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, but really get over it!

Best kids movie of the summer. I went with Charlotte and Evan and they loved it. It was not made for adults, there was no off color humor for adults. It was a sweet and cute movie for kids. It was beautifully and creatively made.

We didn't need stars.

We didn't need 3-D or IMAX.

We just needed a good kids movie, and that's what we got!

Disapointing to say the least, in a wierd way. If they had made this movie with a sweet story with all of the sweet characters they had in the last one it would have been great. If they would have made a cool Pixar level Spy movie with new animated "human" characters (think computer animated James Bond) this movie would have been awesome. What they ended up doing was combining these two elements and it did not work at all. Mater was the central character and his character is not strong enough for the main role. Many of the great characters from the original "Cars" movie had small parts in the new one and one of them they needlessly killed off. What purpose is there to killing off an animated character that isn't even human?

In any case watch the 1st "Cars" movie again and forget they ever made this one.

Sorry Pixar, you have your first miss.

I was happy to see Spilberg and JJ Abrams (Sorry about the spelling I don't feel like looking it up) team up because at the very least I knew the movie wouldn't stink! I was right! Even though I wasn't overwelmed with this movie I certainly was not disapointed.

Although the King did overcome his speech problems he didn't completely overcome them. Honestly, I didn't enjoy this movie for the first 45 minutes. I was expecting it to follow the formula for a traditional suspense thriller. What I learned as I approached the latter part of the movie is that this movie wasn't deigned that way. What this movie does is take you into this balerina's world and mind. You're never sure about what's real and what is not. It is a fascinating movie. The movie is powerfully scored and feels like a ballet itself. I'd like to see it again with the understanding that the movie is more like a ballet, then it is a movie. Hopefully this understanding will help you enjoy it more from the begining.

Very good movie, however very gorry. That doesn't bother me in the least, but I can't imagine the John Wayne version being as "gritty" I admit I haven't seen the original, I will put it on my to-do list. I thought the acting in this movie was superb. For someone who isn't crazy into westerns, this was one that made me at least a little thirsty for more. As a composer/musician I found the soundtrack very appealing. Throughout the movie different variations of the same hymn were used quite effectively to set the mood for the action on the screen. Go catch this in the theater if you still can.

This was an unimpressive movie in an unimpressive theater. I had high hopes seeing a movie in Downtown Chicago, I was disappointed. I guess I'll never find a better theater than the Grand in Winston Salem!

The problem with this movie is that is was missing 2 of the 4 main characters. Apparently the older two are too old to go to Narnia, which I think is crap. I kept on waiting for a surprise appearance, since the older two were far more interesting than the younger two, however except for a dream sequence it wasn't to be. I found this story, not horrible, but definitely not as good as Prince Caspian. It's funny, out of the trilogy I felt the same about the 3rd one as I did the first. The middle one was my favorite! I don't know how close this movie is to the books, but standing alone this movie would have been quickly forgotten. In fact I almost forgot to write a review, that's how forgettable it was.

I love it when a movie is set in Pennsylvania, Yes it's a depressing looking state, but it's my depressing looking state. Oh yeah...I'm supposed to write about the movie. It was great fun. A good action flick that's well filmed and doesn't go over the top! It's predicatable, but that's no big deal. It's a funny movie and Denzel Washington is always fun to watch.

What a wonderful evening of story telling. I don't know if any of it is true, I don't really care. This movie was delightfully written with engaging dialogue and appropriate technical babble. I wanted it to keep going and then it just sort of ended. There wasn't really an arc to the movie more like a steady climbing hill with a note at the top that says "The End" I wanted to find out what happened to these characters next. (More than just a paragraph in the subtitles before the credits.) I wanted them to make up where they would be 20 years from now. I would have stuck around to watch more, and I would have had an enjoyable time doing so. Interesting characters which were well performed by all actors. I highly recommend this move.

All right Ben Affleck! Way to direct a really engaging action flick. It wasn't whiny. I usually associate Ben Affleck with whiny though I can't really say why. Ben just kinda looks like a sissy, not in this movie though. The action was exciting without going overboard, except no one can shoot in this movie to save their life. I have better aim without cheats, falling out of an airplane on Grand Theft Auto.

It was an interesting story and even though there were a few moments where you ask yourself "Why in the world did they do that?" you forgave it because you were entertained. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 95% and even though it's not Superior, it is deserving of recognition.

Where did this movie come from, and why wasn't it publicized more so that more people can see it? What a beautiful movie that's nostalgic without being annoyingly gut wrenching. I wasn't crazy about the ending which knocked it down from Superior to excellent.

In spite of a disapointing ending there should be more movies made like this one and people should go see more movies like this one.

What can I say, it was as healthy as cotton candy.

Was it trying to be a serious action flick?
Sometimes.

Was it a comedy? Maybe?

Bad writing, dumb ending. Cool action scenes followed by ridiculous embarassing action scenes.

When you add it all up what a horrible movie. You shouldn't go see it because it's so stupid...it's so dumb...it's cheap entertainment with it's decapitated heads, pretty women and ugly men both doing outlandish, illogical and implausable acts.

So there, take that, it's a bad movie.

By the way I liked it, but I shouldn't have. Do you want to go see it with me again?

This movie took a long time to get started and honestly it's pretty painful to get all the background neccesary to understand what's going on. Make sure you pay attention the first 45 minutes or you'll be lost for the rest of the movie. Once it gets going it's well worth the investement. It's a fun journey through different levels of dreaming with a satisfactory completion.

First of all, if you make a good movie you don't need 3D, unless you are trying to be visually astounding. The entire Toy Story series has no need to be such a spectacle. With that in mind, I decided to see the regular version instead of the 3D version. I suspect that there would be little difference in my review either way.

Toy Story 3 was exactly what I thought it would be. It was fun and by the end you realize just how attached you are to the characters. You feel sad that Andy's all grown up. But don't worry Toy Story 3 has a great ending.

My only criticism is that it took itself a little to seriously. There's a scene where all of our favorite toys are facing certain doom. This is not unlike any other cartoon movie, but I thought that the scene in this one was over the top dramatic. It switched to an adult move at this point that I don't feel was very kid friendly. I'm not a parent to shelter my children but I found this scene to be a little too intense. Charlotte closed her eyes and I told her when the toys were ok.

Besides that I was very pleased with Toy Story 3. It was a great way to spend a hot summer afternoon!

It would have been better if it wasn't a remake. However, Karate Kid has such a great fomula you didn't mind many things being the same as the original. In fact, I kind of got upset that it wasn't exactly like the original, only with different characters in a different setting.
I though the main characters were too young. It's hard to relate to a love story with a 12 year old. Jaden Smith needs a new hair cut, he looks like a girl, no I mean he really looks like a girl. He needs also to stop acting in the same manner as his Dad. It just reinforces that he's too young to be an actor of his own making. Ok maybe I'm too picky, but it's just a thought. I thought Jackie Chan (who I'm not a big fan of) showed a great deal of emotion and acted very well, even if it was hard to understand him from time to time.

Do not expect this to be as good as the original because it's not, however I think they got it right. Just like the version from the 80's it highlights the music and stereotypes of it's time. Just like the 80's version it has a great story and formula to make you cheer for Daniel son the entire time...or whatever this new kid's name is. Maybe rent it, but you won't need to buy it.

Well its about time! I suppose nearly 2 months between movies for a normal person is not unusual, but for me it's an eternity. Honestly there wasn't much in the last few weeks I wanted to see (Not that I had the time). Thankfully Iron Man II came along and did not disappoint. I was skeptical before watching the first Iron Man but was pleasantly surprised. This time I knew what to expect and got exactly what I expected, funny characters and good fun action. You're not going to be surprised by this movie, but you won't be disappointed either.

Now do not worry, there are plenty of movies coming out in the next few months that I will definitely see. I haven't fallen completely off the wagon!

Excellent but darn near superior. The only thing keeping it off the superior list is that fact that it just wasn't quite as good as the ones on the Superior list. I was worried that the movie was going to be more like a haunted house movie, but it wasn't. In fact all of the "supernatural" things happen only during dream sequences. The last 20 minutes of the movie are the best, and they really make the movie great. Even though I figured out what was probably going to happen, I was still surprised by the way it was all wrapped up.

All in all some gret film-making. I fully recommend this one!

Honestly a very good good, but not a good great. Could it be a good with benefits? First of all don't waste your money on the 3-D, it's not worth it. Whereas Avatar and Christmas Carol were greatly enhanced by the 3-D features, in Alice it was just an excuse to charge you an extra $3.00. Johnny Depp, as always, was excellent, but Alice looked to young to be a 20 year old considering marriage, and too old to be the Alice of our childhood.

Also not too good for kids, much too scary and violent. If I took Charlotte she would have spent 90% of the movie covering her eyes. I guess that's the big problem with the movie. Was it a kid's movie, or an adult movie. I think that by trying to be both it was neither.

It's been real busy lately so I haven't made it out to a movie for a while. This zombie-like movie ended up being a survival film, which really worked. I particulary appreciated some of the very interesting camera angles. They were different without being annoying or cliche. That was the best aspect of the film.

Not really scary, not overly gory, not extremely shocking, but it was an enjoyable movie that provides for a well spent evening.

This movie was creepy. It was scary, but not in a good way. It was scary in a "I'm going to jump out from a dark corner" sort of way. I find those kind of movies more annoying then truly scary. I don't like it when you use tricks, actually have the brainpower to write a convincingly scary story, and then get good enough actors who can truly be scary, not creepy.

The concept of the show was good enough, but it was too gorry. Not that I don't like gorry. Look at Zombieland, I loved the Gorry in that movie. However the Gorry in Daybreakers wasn't as effective.

Sorry to be such a bummer, but Daybreakers just didn't deliver for me. No wonder I was the only one in the theater. Private screening are kind of cool though.

This was a bad-A## bible movie! Although it was a little slow at the begining I loved the idea of the bible being the most sought after and powerful book in the world. I loved the idea that Eli's mission was to protect it at all cost and deliver it to a place where it would rebuild the world. I loved how no weapon formed against Eli was able to prosper, and I loved then end when you found out....

Yeah right like I'd ruin it for you! Go see it yourself!

Sure the details are a bit peculiar but I have a rule for any movie that has anything to do with the end of the world. That rule is: Don't focus too much on the details, if you do you're focusing on the wrong part of the story.

So go get some religion, some hard core religion, and fill up your violence quota all in one night!

After thinking about it I really did like this movie, it just wasn't as good as it could have been.
The problem is it's "In Between." The dead girl didn't connect in any way with her family trying to solve her murder. This made it feel hap-hazard. The dead girl really had no active role in the plot of the movie. Without her the ending would have been the same.

I wanted the ghost girl to have a part in the living people finding her killer, or her body. Even just given a clue, but she didn't. The after-life wasn't real enough, or visually spectacular enough, to be believable and I found myself asking what's the point. It had good ideas, especially being told from the perspective of the murdered girl, but the ideas weren't developed enough. It could have been more. The murderer should have known somehow that the dead girl was watching. The dead girls sister should have seen the dead girl or felt her presence. That would have made it more intriging.

This movie was way better than it was supposed to be. I mean James Cameron writer/director, James Horner composer, Celine Dion singing at the ending credits, it's going to be Titanic 2 right? Wrong. Although it uses all the ingerdients of a normal movie it uses them in the most effective way possible. It's like going to your favorite restaraunt and ordering you favorite dish and enjoying it. Was it a surprise? No, but you enjoy it anyway.

Now I'll be the first to say it's not the best of the superiors, in fact it's probably the worst of the superiors. If I look over my list though at all of the Excellent ratings, I will not find a movie that is better than this one.

Great action movie, with great sci-fi ideas that was crafted very well. It's a bit long, but even after 2:40 I'd like to stay in that world a while longer. That's the usual sign of a Superior movie...you don't want it to end.

I tried to fight it, I didn't want it to be true but it is. Avatar is a superior movie that I highly reccomend...

Thank you Disney. Although this was not The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, or Aladdin, it was so nice to see an "Old Fashined" animated feature from Disney. The Pixar stuff is great, don't get me wrong, but sometimes you need to go back to your roots. It's kind of like church (hang with me here) I love my church, it's contemporary and exciting using all kind of media, lights, sound etc. I love it. But every now and then I think about my church from childhood. I remember the Christmas eve services on a cold dark night. I remember the old hymns from an old organ. Those are sweet memories of tradition and stability. This movie was like that old church, sure it's not the latest and flashiest, but that doesn't make it innefective. It's a great movie for all the reasons any movie is a great movie. Great characters, Great Story, Great Story telling. And a five year old who passes out into a popcorn coma on the way home helps too!

Well I do find myself in a pickle here.

Great Characters? Check. Every character is complex and interesting. There is no black and white. There are reasons why everyone is the way they are.

Great acting? Check, check, check! Acting was phenomenal. Probably the best performances of the year!

So why a rating of poor? Because in the end I just didn't like it. I didn't understand the point. If the movie was to tell this girls story, why didn't they tell us the ending? Every thread in the story was left unresolved. You are left not knowing anything about what happens to these characters. Don't get me wrong it doesn't have to have a happy ending, but it must have an ending.

Perhaps the only point of this movie was to make everyone cry. The structure of the film is what ruined it for me. Let me summarize. First something horrible happens, and then something even more horrible happens, and then something even more horrbile happens. Things get a little better and then something horrible happens. The end. No resolution, not even a line of text at the end that says "And then 2 days later Precious gets hit by a bus" (I wouldn't have been surprised if that really did happen).

I am sad that the performances by the actors were wasted on a bad plot structure. You would think that such powerful performances would overshadow the poorly constructed story. But it didn't and I left the theater angry and confused.

Now before I start, a few things. 1. If you're worried about a movie being believable, don't go see a movie about the end of the world. And don't complain about how predictable it is as if you want the heroes in the story to die. You know you don't want them to die! Oh stop it, that wasn't any more a spolier than telling you "There's going to be a big wave!"
Now with that understanding this is a great movie! It's long, but hey it takes a long time to destroy the world. I wasn't bored at all, I thought the effects were good. Not "Christmas Carol" or "Knowing" great, but I was in no way disapointed. I thought the acting and the story were appropriate to the movie which was being made. Will it win an Oscar, no but something tells me we all understood that before we went. I've been looking forward to this movie and it did not let me down. Good job. Everyone, really, relax and have a little fun for a change. Not every movie has to change the world, as long as it destroys it.

This movie was surprisingly better, funnier, and sweeter than expected. It was a nice surprise. The characters in this movie are endearing, even when they're horrible to each other. Their charm and bond makes you want to be a part of their group. This is what propels this movie to greatness. Now don't get too excited, Pirate Radio isn't going to change the world, but it's worth seeing, on DVD at least!

This was the scariest I've seen in a long time. That's saying a lot considering my list. There were times I was shaken, and this isn't an unfamiliar story. This was also a beautiful movie with amusement park like effects, especially with the 3-D, which by the way I highly reccomend. With the 3-D glasses you really notice the care and detail taken to truly make this an imaginative and engaging remake of the ultimate Christmas Story (Next to the Jesus Story of course.) Many are critical of this movie because of it's over use of special effects and I would agree with them if the story telling and acting weren't as superb as they were. Jim Carey (I'm not really a fan) was excellent in his portrayal of Scrooge and the Spirits of Christmas Past and Present. Each Spirit character including Jacob Marley was both endearing and terrifying. Exactly as their characters should be. The exception being the Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come, he and his evil black horse and carriage were the scariest things I've ever seen, there was nothing endearing about them. The animation of all the scenes were beautiful and realistic. There is so much color that sometimes it heart to see the screen. The animation was so good, it really felt like you were flying over buildings. It was truly and exciting and entertaining experience. The special effects are absolutely neccesary in the making of this film. The same critics who complain about too much spectacle will be the sames ones who would have labled this version as unoriginal if the effects were left out. There is no way for Jim Carey or any other actor to match the brilliance of George C. Scott, No animated version could be as loved and endearing as the Disney Version with Scrooge McDuck. This version had to be different, and it had to be a visual masterpiece, and it was.
Do not take your children to see this movie. It's way too intense. But you should go, although I'm sure many will disagree with me, I beleive this if the best version of "A Christmas Carol" ever made. At the very least it is the most terrifying and visually astounding version!

Since this really isn't a "movie" movie I didn't rate it as such. I really enjoyed this movie. It was simply file footage of concert preperation for his London concerts that he never got to perform. I was truly impressed with Jackson's work ethic, attention to detail, and his ability to bring out the best music and performance from everyone who worked for him. Jackson was truly a professional, when he speaked everyone listened. And he was right in his directions. The performance they were rehearsing would have been out of this world incredible, and Jackson at 50 sure didn't look like he hadn't performed in 10 years. I thoroughly enjoyed and was inspired by this movie. It wasn't about his death or life, it was about his craft and that's why it so appealed to me.

This was not the scarient movie I've ever scene. I watched it alone, and I slept fine. However it was a great movie to see. I was concerned at the begining. It looked like another Cloverfield or Quarantine at the begining, which if you're familiar with my reviews is not a good thing, Fortunately this was the best filmed of the "reality" live taped movies. the first half of the movie you don't want to see the demon manifest itself because you're afraid to be scared. The second half of the movie you want to see the demon manifest itself because it's fun. This movie isn't gory or overly paramormal. It's the simple things that make this a fun movie to watch. And don't worry, you won't have nightmares!

This movie was flippin' awesome. Non-stop entertainment from begining to end. This is how you make a smart Horror-Comedy. When you compare it to other movies on this list, no it is not as good as they are, but when you compare it to other comedies, it is beyond superior. And Gorry. Oh my gosh I've never seen so much blood. It was disgusting, I loved it. There's nothing serious about this movie at all it's just a fun zombie killing movie. The ideas were fresh and the characters surprising and interesting. Go see this movie and be prepared to laugh until your head explodes, it just may happen, especially if someone thinks you're a zombie. They'll probably shoot you twice, rule #2. I feel I learned a lot about how to survive if the world suddenly becomes overrun by cannibalistic zombie. A good skill to have.

This movie moved slowly at the begining. I liked it, however I thought they spent too much time focusing on the story of the main character and his family. That's all well and good but I think they missed the opportunity to show my generation what Woodstock really looked like. I think they succesfully portrayed the "Spirit" of Woodstock, however the movie sort of failed to portray what it actually, physically, looked like. I feel like a saw a small part of the whole picture, and it was a full picture I really wanted to see, so in that way I'm a little disapointed. Overall though, a flick worth seeing but I wish I knew then what I knew now and I would have enjoyed it much better!

This move was as good as I had hoped it would be. What made it good was what makes all good movies good, "Writing" Quinten Tarantino is one of the best writer/ directors around and Inglorious Baterds fits his style perfectly. This movie is not as good as Pulp Fiction, but it is most certainly in the same league. This movie takes it's time and isn't consumed with the violence, even though it is extremely violent. There are no weak (or short) scenes. The dialogue is carefully written and the character complex and interesting. The best performance is by Brad Pitt. If only this were a true story, things would have been different.

This movie wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. It's certainly worth seeing, but the camera work wasn't done very well. Some of the action was cool, but some of the "raw news footage" made me think of Cloverfield and Quarantine (Not a good thing to be reminded of). Fortunately the whole movie wasn't set up as news footage, however the design and writing seemed haphazard and unfocused. I thought the main male character was annoying so I didn't care about his sacrafice on behalf of the aliens. The cool part of the movie was that you have a lot more empathy for the aliens then the humans. I almost want to see a sequel where the aliens come back and kick the crap out of us. If they'd make one I'd go see it and hope they learned how to make a better designed movie in process.

Cool movie. I enjoyed the idea. I was worried it might have a Quantum Leap sort of feel to it, but it didn't. It didn't take itself too seriously, it was more like, what if? I appreciated the what if and thought it made for an endearing thoughtful movie. The only thing is after you see it, don't try to tell someone what happens in the movie, it makes it sound really stupid. If you don't beleive me watch Jon Stewarts interview Rachel McAdams when she tells him what the movie's about. It's a little farfetched and complicated, but hello, it's about a time traveller. Maybe we shouldn't focus too much on the details, eat our popcorn and enjoy the show!

Is anyone else tired of Movie Critic sites that do nothing but crap on movies they don't like. I mean why did you spend all of that money to go see something just so you can write something negative about it? What movie have you produced, directed, acted, written? Now I understand if you thought it was going to be great and then being disappointed. If that's the case then by all means be as critical as you like, however if you intentionally write about a movie to make yourself sound important or knowledgeable, well save it because no one cares what you think. No one cares what I think! And I get annoyed when I'm trying to find intelligent feedback on a movie and I find all these people just writing things because they think they're clever. You don't sound clever, you sound stupid. I read a review once that was so convoluted I didn't understand one word of it. Now I'm an educated man but I'm sure some of these people are sitting at their computers with a thesaurus trying to find the most obscure references they can . It's like when stupid people use SAT words in sentences to make themselves sound smart, it makes them sound dumber than they really are.

In the end, stop going to see movies you won't like. I never go see a movie I don't want to see. Over time I've gotten better at choosing movies, which is why 99% of my ratings are Great-Excellent-Superior. Maybe some of you "Critics" out there need to search deep within your soul to find the intelligence not to waste $8.50 on a move you're just going to rant about later. Or maybe that's what you like to do, perhaps you only find happiness in the negative. In that case maybe you need to resolve some issues with your mother, or see a therapist or something to make you less sadistic. The movies are a magical place where you can go for a few hours and be lost in a world that is not your own. I feel sorry for people who make it another negative place in their depressing lives.

I perfered the Julie true story to the Julia! It was a great movie to watch. Both stories were very interesting and it helped to know they were both true. Julie in the movie reminds me of my wife and her husband reminds me of me. The only difference between him and me is I am a saint and I know it! Ouch...that lightening bolt was awfully close to the keyboard. I wonder with all of that butter how Julia and her hursband lived to be 92 and 94 years old? I'm so glad they told us at the end of the movie that the book Julie wrote was made into a movie...I would have never known.

This movie was moderately funny. The stand-up portions were the funniest. If you were looking for a purely funny movie then wait for the DVD and fast forward through the "story" part and just watch the stand up. The story portion of the movie is interesting, with interesting characters. I wasn't crazy about the ending, however it's probably a realistic one. The only probelm is after 2.5 hours, I'm ready for a more definative ending that isn't so open-ended.

I was looking for a heart-warming-what a great world Drama. What I got instead was a meandering story without a begining or an end. Every question it askes was left unanswered. It was if we saw a few weeks of these people's lives and then left without finding out about them. I'm not really angry with this movie, except I don't think it was effective. Good job trying something new, but borring is still borring, and unreseolved leaves you, unresolved. The cool part was that it was set in Winston Salem! Always cool to see some local landmarks, however if you don't care about such things, don't bother.

I heard it compared to March of the Penguins, Earth wasn't even close. If nothing else Morgan Freeman is better than James Earl Jones any day. I did not know this movie was going to be as religious as it was until the end. I think the people who have given this movie a negative review, gave it a negative review because they knew beforehand of the obvious religious context. It's too bad for them because the missed some of the best film making and storytelling in a long while. To be honest I would have been with them. I usually stay away from movies that have a religious context because they so often fall short in just about every area of good film making (ie Fireproof, Left Behind, The Passion of the Christ) I am so glad I didn't know that in advance here beacause I would probably not have seen it. I expected it to be an "End of the World" movie, and that is all. I invite you to see it only with that pre-text. Get it out of your head that it's a religous movie and see it with the same open mind that you'd see any other movie, if you do, for real, then I believe you will come to the same conclusion as I that this is a Superior movie. Now then, that being said let's talk about the movie itself. First of all Special effects Outrageously spectacular, from the spaceships to the new plantes to our planet to the people on fire! WOW! Never seen anything like it. Acting- I'm not a Nicolas Cage fan, but he did good, no acting was spectacular, but it didn't need to be. Excitment: Action sequences (See special effects above) were out of this world exciting. It wasn't jerky you could actually follow what was happening, very cool stuff. Scary: I was scared to death at times during this movie. The imagery of the boy's nightmare was so realistic and creepy it gave me goosebumps, litterally. The best part, no tricks, no lame jump out of a dark closet crap, (except once which was more of a joke then really trying to be scary) this movie was actually, and refreshingly, scary at times. I'm also glad that they actually showed the end of the world, and the begining of the new world ("And then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, and by the way I caught the 4 horsemen reference too. Finally the music for this movie really brought it to life, not only the original music, but the classical musc choosen as well. Right down to the elementary students playing Holst's Planets. It also sounded like kids playing and not professionals trying to sound like kids playing(which rarely works) they even got that right. In conclusion don't have a closed mind. Go see it and see a great movie!

Good movie that got better as it went. They should have slowed down the beginning because it was too hard to follow. There's a lot of exposition that you need to understand and it was very hard for me to follow. Once I did figure out the plot it was a very good movie, was it the best movie, certainlynot, however it was a beautifully filmed movie, with the exception fo the overuse of the Green screen. Acting was good, the bad guy needed to look a little more different then the good guy though. It was difficult to tell them apart. I thought the critics were wrong on this one, I enjoyed this movie

Maybe burn before seeing is more approriate. I mean really, Fargo, No country for old Men, and then this? Really. Not funny (Except for Brad Pitt) got better once someone died and then just ended. And by the way, where's the money? There's always money hidded somewhere. (If you've seen Fargo and No Country for Old men you'd understand) For shame Coen brothers, for shame. (Maybe I shouldn't have seen this movie right after Miracle a St. Anna?)
